Tuesday evening saw the first pre-season game for the U10s Henley Hurricanes and Hotspurs. It was the first competitive game for the teams since the last season was cut short by the coronavirus pandemic in March. The game was played on the astroturf at Jubilee Park with Storm Francis most definitely in attendance. Both teams started the game looking to be positive, but took some time to get used to the strong wind blowing across the pitch and the fast pace of the pitch, both of which made accurate passing a challenge. It was the Hurricanes who got their passing together first, gradually finding each other to put together some challenges on goal. In the end, this was a useful first game for both teams, and for the spectators it was great to see competitive football again after such a long break.
